Reviewer invitation, linking a prospective reviewer to a review request

Description; Aperture would like to invite reviewers to peer review manuscripts in Kotahi. In most cases, reviewers won’t be registered in the system. This feature should leverage the email notification subsystem to send an email notification to a prospective reviewer inviting her/him to accept a review.

Workflow;

  1. Reviewer invitation workflow
  2. HE captures prospective reviewer name, surname and email address
  3. HE navigates to the research object and selects ‘new user’ (or chooses a user from the dropdown menu) and ‘Invite reviewer’ email notification template from the Control panel
  4. HE populates ‘name’ and ‘email address’ fields and clicks ‘Notify’
  5. New user (reviewer) opens the email notification in their preferred email service provider (Gmail, Outlook etc.)
  6. Reviewer reads contextual information; metadata, manuscript title etc.
  7. Reviewer has the option to ‘Accept’ or ‘Reject’ the invitation by clicking on;
  • ‘Accept’ directs reviewers to the Aperture Neuro login page - they will need to have an ORCID account to log in
  • ‘Reject’ updates the system that the review has been declined (rejected), this would send the ‘Reviewer has rejected review invitation’ email notification to HE (as per current functionality)
  1. Reviewer will land on ‘My profile page’ and have the opportunity to modify their personal details
  2. Reviewer will navigate to the Dashboard and see the review listed under ‘My Reviews’
  3. Clicking on ‘Do review’ leads to the Review page where the peer review will be captured (as per current state)
