[CoLab] 'new chat message' email notification
Description; editors are unaware of messages posted in discussions (chat). Discussions rely on manual checks on behalf of the editorial team, editors and/or reviewers to determine if there has been any recent engagement. Discussions do not support @tagging of users nor any automated email notification sent to a team as result of engagement.
Solution;
- automated email notification is sent to all editors assigned to a manuscript when a new post is made to 'Editors discussion'.
- the user posting the message should not receive an email notification.
- an admin (journal manager) should receive a notification for all new posts.
- admins (journal managers) should receive an email notification for all posts made to the 'Admin discussion'.
- email notifications should include a time, date and link to the respective
decision
page (Control panel) or Manuscripts page. - If a user posts 3 messages in quick succession, for example, the editor team should only receive 1 notification - a digest every hour maybe?
- If a user is active, he/she won't receive a notification.
