in books with multiple <subtitle>'s, book metadata tab only shows one <subtitle>
Expected behaviour
In PDF and XML wholebooks, user should see all subtitles in the read-only book metadata UI after a converted file is uploaded or received. The subtitles should appear in multiple subtitle fields in the order of how it is put together in narrative (one after another).
Current behaviour
For wholebooks with multiple subtitles, book metadata tab only shows one subtitle even after converted file is uploaded.
Steps to reproduce
-
upload converted file in PDF whole book
-
see book metadata tab only lists one subtitle
- compare to converted xml
<book-title>Community information strategies</book-title>
<subtitle>Pelvic floor dysfunction: prevention and non-surgical management</subtitle>
<subtitle>Evidence review A</subtitle>
</book-title-group>
Possible solution
Read subtitles from converted file and display them one after another in wholebook metadata UI as read only, in a similar way we do for contributors for XML chapters: We display them one below another after reading the converted XML, and have 'Contributor 1', 'Contributor 2' etc. for as many as needed. In that context of multiple subtitles, the fields would appear as 'Subtitle 1', 'Subtitle 2' etc for as many subtitles as are in the converted XML.
NCBI's priority feedback
Y, for migration - reason: we have a lot of PDF titles that are updated and the provider / submitter (based on ongoing demos) wants to be able to see the metadata and in the future edit it. We need to know / support a migration target.
QA Steps
- created a PDF wholebook
- uploaded a converted file with multiple subtitles in it. - bcms4415.xml
- checked if all the subtitles in the converted files are displayed in the UI.
- Repeated the same steps for XML wholebook.
