NCBI testing release 24 March 2022
Hi @lathrops1
cc @DioneMentis
In this release we have completed the following features and bug resolutions.
Feature development: complete document use case for Word workflow
Coko's development was done in #215 (closed). This development updates the current submission types to allow for a 'complete document' processing use case for Word that:
- Sends a single document to Word conversion (chapter-processed) as currently developed
- Excludes current Word WF functionality that is not relevant:
- TOC building and their related settings
- book component metadata
- book component team
- Meets NCBI's use case of displaying just a document on the landing page
- Does not introduce a new submission type for submitters
Please refer to #215 (closed) for the feature details and QA steps. There is one remaining and important task required by NCBI to complete this feature.
Feature development: Hide book components from TOC/do not include in TOC.xml file; Hide book components from TOC when uploading a converted file; component: TOC flags with tooltip,
This relates to Issues #1017 (closed), #1081 (closed), and #1018 (closed).
Some books have a sidebar on the Bookshelf site, for example the "GeneReviews Links" section for the GeneReviews Book, which displays selected book components instead of including these in the TOC. The completed development for this feature allows a user to indicate in the metadata table of a Word source file that the component should not be included in the TOC, and then it is not included in the generated TOC and displays a flag with a tooltip on the book manager page. The development also caters for a workaround if for some reason the conversion service is down and the NCBI sys admin needs to upload a converted xml that includes <?hideTOC?>
.
A design improvement has also been made in #1018 (closed) to the 'TOC?' label so that it is now red and displays when a component cannot be placed due to its ordering value being missing (for example if ordering by publication date and publication date is missing for the chapter).
Feature development: Email metadata modified by user
A refinement to this previously developed feature was made and tracked in #957 (closed), to adjust the wording to match the wording confirmed for use in cell F39.

QA steps have been added to all bugs to help verify that they're resolved.
