Separate 'Upload' from 'send to conversion' in Word WF
At the moment when a file is uploaded, in bulk or individually, it's sent to conversion. This doesn't give the user an opportunity to upload supplementary files (and isn't a logical approach in PDF and XML workflows.)
Changes:
-
When file is uploaded, status changes to "New upload". This is the status of the file and the book component -
"New upload" icon is blue with 'N' (like the "Previewing" icon) -
If the new upload creates a new book component, assign a BCMS ID
. -
If the user upload another source file before the current file has been sent to coversion, the current file gets overwritten. -
Add a button "Submit" to the book manger and book component page bottom bar (see rough wireframes below). Selecting Submit sends the file(s) to conversion and changes the status to "converting" -
Correct text in 'File version' column as shown below. -
Block all file uploads to a component with status "Converting" and "Loading Preview" from Book manager and book component files tab. (This is done for "Converting" already) -
Buttons 'Ready to publish' and 'Publish' are inactive when status is "New Upload"
Let's do the related WORD WF permissions at the same time:
-
System Admins, Org Admins, and Editors and Authors added to the Book team can bulk upload. Previewers do not see "Bulk upload". -
System Admins, Org Admins, and Book Editors, and Editors and Authors added to the Book component team can upload to the specific component. -
Previewers only see the "Preview tab".
NOTE: The same functionality described here applies to chapter-processed books in the XML workflow.
