Sidenotes, or footnotes on the side
Following on this conversation, I state the problem again : a sidenote positionned at a bottom of a page is simply cut off. What do you suggest ? Is it possible to CSS-fix a maximal Y position AND to push every sidenote "higher" whenever the last sidenote of the page exceeds the text area ?
Here are a few cases showing the different behaviors:
Here is a the html code for a sidenote :
<p>My text in the body<span><label for="sn-1" class="margin-toggle sidenote-number"></label><input type="checkbox" id="sn-1" class="margin-toggle"/><span class="sidenote">My sidenote on the side<br />
<br />
</span></span> and that is it.</p>
and the corresponding css:
.sidenote, .marginnote {
float: right;
clear: right;
margin-right: -49mm;
width: 42mm;
margin-top: 0;
margin-bottom: 0;
font-size: 1.1rem;
line-height: 1.3;
vertical-align: baseline;
position: relative;
}
