Preview submission page - revise
Revise design of "Preview submission" page to adapt to critical findings from user testing (ISSUE CREATION IS STILL IN PROGRESS UNTIL AFTER MONDAY MEETING):
(Include ref number) How do I know this?
Acceptance criteria:
-
A submitter/reviewer must be able to discern the difference between stages of the review process, and know what stage s/he is in.
-
A submitter/reviewer must understand that s/he needs to check the submitted manuscript materials for accuracy, and must be able to do so easily.
-
A submitter/reviewer must understand that the PDF displayed on the left, includes only the manuscript file, and not all of the files submitted.
-
A submitter/reviewer should be able to quickly scan the files that s/he has submitted to make sure everything is included, and there's nothing extra.
-
A submitter/reviewer must immediatly understand that the critical call to action is to approve the manuscript, and be able to easily find this function.
-
A submitter/reviewer must understand whether his or her progress has been saved, so that s/he is reassured that it's ok to leave the page.
Subtasks:
CRITICAL
-
Change headings to match design here: -
Add subheadings and separating rules to Files section, like here: -
Add the word "Edit" beside the edit icon, like here: -
Add a sticky footer with the call to action heading, Confirm button, and a save indication, like here: The buttons on the sticky footer are active by default, and will open a modal window. (The sticky footer is only critical on the Review pages, but will eventually be added to the wizard to be consistent). -
Add a modal window that appears when the user clicks "Confirm" the manuscript.
NOT CRITICAL
-
Make page and manuscript headers non-sticky, they should scroll with the page. -
The scroll bar should be for the whole page where possible. -
Simplify the PDF viewer, see here: -
Remove the internal viewer for the html version and have it flow directly on the page. -
Simplify the display of errors where possible, like here: -
For submitters, add the option to "Cancel" the submission to the sticky footer. This should be available throughout the submission process. Once the manuscript has passed final approval, it can only be withdrawn from the dashboard. -
Add a modal window that appears when the user clicks "Cancel" or the manuscript, see here: -
For outside reviewers, the cancel option is not available in-process, but they may "Reject" a manuscript, see here: - -
Add a modal window that appears when the user clicks "Reject" the manuscript, see here:
