Feature: Editor for creating types of questions
Context
HHMI has a defined list of question types that authors should be able to create (#1 (closed)). Some question have similar structures (e.g. multiple choice with single correct answer / multiple choice with multiple correct answer) while others are unique to the type of question (e.g. fill in the blank or matching columns).
For all question types, the author needs to mark which answer(s) is correct/incorrect, and provide feedback for each answer ( displays after the user takes the question).
The questions are used in three ways:
- User takes question online and is shown the correct/incorrect answers with feedback
- exported to printable format: at least Word and PDF
- exported as scorm compliant package for use in learning management systems
Proposal
Author selects a question type --> sees a template for the question type --> writes the question content, answers, feedback.
A question could have:
- paragraph text
- ordered and unordered lists
- inline stying for bold, italics, special characters, super- and subscript, underline
- maths
- images with, caption, alt-text, and source
- tables
