## HHMI accessability checklist
HHMI is committed to ensuring the Question Bank is as accessible as possible. The requirements relevant to this project will be scope by HHMI and Coko, with input from Deque, HHMI's accessibility parter, as needed.

The [HHMI accessability checklist](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-8vorkQ4p2q45aXcPn6pyIZTwiDDvVih1fObovShjN8/edit?usp=sharing) will be used throughout the project. This checklist is a template, so not all point will apply to the Question Bank app. The HHMI content lead and Coko's project manager and designer will complete this checklist together as the project progresses.

Broadly speaking, users may have visual, mobility and auditory impairements that need to be considered. For the cotnent to be accessible to these users, thes WCAG four basic principles guide the requirements:
1. **Percievable:** Web content is made available to senses - sight, hearing, and/or touch
2. **Operable:** Interface forms, controls, and navigation are operable
3. **Understandable:** Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable
4. **Robust:** Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies
See [ WAI's quick reference guide](https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/quickref/?versions=2.0) for more information on each principle.
