Displaying styled text in the book component metadata tab
Hi @lathrops1
For this round of dev, we have not displayed styled metadata, instead we have left the tags visible with plain text.
In order to display the style, we need to know which xml tags we're working with so they can be translated to html. From looking at the files, we can plan to display:
- Italics

- Title
<title></title>
and paragraphs<p></p>
in the Abstract - Subscripts

- Superscripts

We'd need custom code to display the xrefs correctly, for example:
- (
<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="abacavir.REF.1">1</xref
) = (1) -
<xref ref-type="table" rid="clobazam.T.the_fda_2019_drug_label_for_c">Table 1</xref>
= Table 1
Are there any other styles that are frequently used in titles or abstracts?
I recommend that we can go with the rule: any metadata that is styled in source doc (all workflows) is not editable in our UI. If there is a need to change this rule at a later date, then basic editing tools can be build for the certain metadata fields, similar to the example below.
