Cover submitted by publisher / content provider package to FTP does not get accurately / fully processed
Expected behaviour
Covers posted by a publisher / content provider as part of an FTP package to publisher folder should get fully processed for accurate display on all Bookshelf site(s)
Current behaviour
Covers posted by a publisher / content provider as part of an FTP package to publisher folder do not get passed to NCBI for processing via /am/ftp-private/bookshelf/coko/covers
Steps to reproduce
- Repackage as FTP package and post to FTP for processing
- See BCMS uploads to cover UI in metadata tab
- See BCMS does not pass to NCBI per integration specifications
NOTE -
There are usability issues here for tracking and error troubleshooting, including:
- NO BCMS work history of when covers are sent to BCMS
- NO BCMS work history if covers fail to process
These should be addressed as future improvements that I will log in my records, but interim necessity is have a way for Bookshelf staff to know when a cover fails to process, even if that is including our email(s) in NCBI notifications
Priority
Y, requires minimal solution for deployment to support this use case
QA Steps
For chapter processed books in XML workflow:
- Create the book via UI.
- upload the following file coverUploadTest-XMLbook.zip After editing the meta.xml file with the bcms id from the book created via UI.
- The image tagged as cover in the manifest.xml should be uploaded as a cover in the metadata of the book , when the files appear at the site.
For wholebooks in XML Workflow:
- sent via FTP a package which has a cover image
- Check that the image will be uploaded at the metadata of the book in UI
