Proposal
Change to data model to allow multiple orgs linked to one book, and the change to the URL to remove the organisation ID. The owner of the book (who creates the book) will also be linked as the Publisher in the PMC database.
Implementation (if applicable)
-
1. Change to data model to allow multiple orgs linked to one book ( Publisher
(who is also the book owner/creator) andNamed publisher
for now, in future there will be others). A new table is required for this. -
2. Change to the URL to remove the organisation ID -
3. Rename “Publisher” in the New Book dropdown to “Named publisher” to avoid confusion. The current values in the dropdown remain unchanged: - if a Funder organisation is creating a book, this dropdown lists all organisations that have the setting type "publisher”
- if a Publisher organisation is creating a book, this dropdown lists the current organisation only.
-
4. Link the domain of the book to whichever organisation creates the book, therefore use this organisation as “Publisher” in create domain requests and apply its books settings template.
