Minified version of paged.polyfill.js and when to use paged.js vs. paged.polyfill.js
- Looking for a 'minified CDN-version' of paged.polyfill.js but I can't find one anywhere?
At https://unpkg.com/browse/pagedjs@0.4.1/dist/ we only have the full script. For speed and efficiency in countries where bandwidth is not available in abundance, a minified version hosted on a CDN would be very nice.
A simple minification yields a reduction of paged.polyfill.js v. 0.4.1
by 44.6%, or 398 kb. Original size is 893 kb!
The minified version, i.e. paged.polyfill.min.js
is then "only" 495 kb, which would yield significantly reduced load times on a slow connection. If the minified script is then compressed even further with brotli or gzip, we are talking massive improvements in load times.
I checked
- https://www.jsdelivr.com/package/npm/pagedjs - but they only host paged.js - not the paged.polyfill.js
- https://cdnjs.com/ - paged.js not even there.
- Difference between paged.js and paged.polyfill.js.
I am trying to figure out exactly when to used pages.js
over paged.polyfill.js
but the documentation at https://pagedjs.org/documentation/2-getting-started-with-paged.js/#using-paged.js-as-a-polyfill-in-web-browsers does not really mention this (or maybe I have overlooked it).
