Allow select of non-adjacent words on Mac OS
RFC: Feature proposal: Allow select of non-adjacent words in Wax on Mac OS
Context
On Windows, in many text editors you can hold down the ctrl button to select multiple words anywhere in the text, even if the words are not adjacent. In the Wax editor this is also possible on Windows. See below example in the OEN project:
On Mac, this is usually possible by holding down the cmd button for example in Google docs or Visual studio code, but notably not in the Outline documentation tool, and importantly, in this context, not in the Wax editor.
I noticed this while trying to replicate this bug about 'When selecting two different words at the same time, the formatting (for example italics) affects only the word selected last' but I couldn't try to replicate it because I couldn't select multiple Words on my system.
Proposal
Allow multiple words to be selected on Mac systems in the Wax editor. When multiple words are selected, and formatting is applied, the formatting should apply to all the selected words (which will resolve the error reported in the bug also linked above).
One further note, it seems, when I hold down cmd on Mac and try select a first word, the whole 'block' is selected, allowing me to move the block to a different position. That is importantly functionality so cmd might be already used for this purpose. I'm not sure how that was accommodated on Windows and whether both multi-select of words and control of block position can both be accommodated on Mac somehow.
