Book Builder
Top bar
-
Move cover management to asset manager but mark it clearly as cover, separate from other images. Support multiple covers (for diff formats/editions) -
get rid of book settings and move running heads to export settings. (see #387) -
Create a master export modal (see #387) -
Move ‘upload word files’ button – near the title? (Now named 'Import') -
Make the asset manager a full page modal. Lots of work will be done here in cleaning up the UX. Anticipate more fields (Henrik – have a look at the asset manager proposal for overall intention.) -
Asset manager: need some indication that files are still uploading when the modal is closed
Page contents
-
Since TOC cannot be edited, move it out of front matter (visually). Same with notes -
drag and drop icon is not the right one (three dots) -
setting verso or recto for the first page of each chapter on this page doesn’t make sense. It should apply in the export settings, for the whole book. (see #387) -
take away the TOC button per chapter and move to export settings. (see #387) -
We could show the file name below/near the title of the chapter. Then for actual title: ...use h1 if present ...leave as untitled -
Could look into editing book component titles in Wax and book builder page, if use cases outweigh tech complexity. -
If opening the title on click (not edit button) is done on the dashboard page, then do the same here. -
Keep divisions (front/body/back) for now. We could have an org default setting later on.
Workflow states
-
production editor should be to be able to choose the names and perms for different states. Meaning of these is context specific. Could be complex but necessary -
changing status states needs to be via a drop down, not the linear process it currently is
Component type
-
Gear icon (to change type of component) isn’t clear -
Should be able to see the component type without clicking gear icon (if it’s not a standard part or chapter)
