Focus of development this week
We are focussing on completing as many MVP issues as possible, including thorough QA and the implementation of updates to automated tests. We have three processing instructions issues in progress, new features in the metadata UI for contributor groups with roles, as well as work relating to TOCs, and performance.
Issues under discussion for MVP
The following issues are on the priority list for project managers this week. The remaining MVP issues that have not been put in the backlog are in various stages of in-progress development.
#1369: Gene reviews performance issue
We have been working on improvements for this issue which do not involve lazy-loading since we agreed that we can't implement integrated search and filter functionality now which would be required if we took that approach. A draft MR will be available this week.
#1332 (closed): BCMS "Organizations" multi-to-multi relationships
Please refer to the Google doc which outlines the immediate goals and the implication for MVP.
#1391: Chapter date and label not passed to TOC in some combinations of book settings and XML format
It has been requested that 1) we always show the chapter label on the TOC, regardless of the ordering setting 2) we fetch chapter publishing metadata from <pub-date>
when <pub-history>
is not available.
We need to investigate the technical options and update the issue description to confirm the exact scope and approach required, versus current development.
#1151 (closed): PDF First Match to Later Full Text Version
Bookshelf has the use case where it receives a funded content PDF / Manuscript version from an a Awardee and later final full text XML from a publisher. The plan is to match these book versions by DOI, as the submit-ID. Dione will walk us through the proposed workflow either in the review call or in a separate meeting today.
#1385: Unable to archive books and collections via settings
We have been reviewing this issue which was added to the MVP list 2 weeks ago. We won't discuss it today but I'm noting that it's a priority for this week to finalise the scope and approach. We will revert with a request for confirmation of the scope in the issue.
#1165 (closed): Update to when Create PDF settings should show
Stacy has provided further info in the issue and it's a priority for this week to finalise the scope for development.
