NCBI testing release 19 September 2022
Hi @lathrops1 cc @DioneMentis
I've outlined the work released today in the table below, in the order of priority that you've given on the sheet.
The status of remaining MVP issues today is provided on the BCMS_Sept15_Critical sheet, but is always most up-to-date by indication of the labels on the issues themselves, which is explained in the Development and QA phases section of the Wiki (i.e. once we merge things to the develop
branch and confirm they are working as expected on the https://ncbidev.cloud68.co/ test site, we add the label QA NCBI dev
to the relevant issues. In that way you can know what our develop
branch contains that is not yet on the staging
branch. Issues released today won't have the QA NCBI dev
label, because they've moved passed that phase to the Dev: done
phase, since they've been deployed to the staging
branch and https://ncbi.cloud68.co/ site, and added to a testing ticket for you).
The issues released today contain QA steps, except for #1369 which is just a general improvement to all aspects of accessing, managing, and navigating in chapter-processed books.
Note, for #1369, we have not implemented Denis's further feedback here yet. We would like NCBI to test the work delivered today and let us know if we should prioritise that further improvement. The changes released today should drastically improve the performance, but Denis's suggestion may make a small further improvement to the performance and can be done if further improvements are required based on your testing.
Only one branch for #1369 (!1082 (merged)) is contained in this release today since it made sense for us to perfect that and make sure it passed QA in time for this release. Our commits are granular and we can roll back this delivered work if needed to deploy more minimal changes, but I expect that our thorough work and QA avoids the need for that.
The last two issues in the table weren't marked as priorities for NCBI, but were blocking our automated testing work so we got them out of the way.
If you have any questions about this delivered work or the QA process please let me know.
